Studio Upgrade Complete

Posted on November 27, 2009

After a year and a half of cajoling on Chris’s part, Yamaha – this time employing the services of a qualified audio electrician – finally returned to Defibrillator studios to deal with issues remaining from the time of the studio’s initial construction.

Youichi Saotome and team spent the day ripping off the studio walls; replacing the original consumer-quality breakers, AC power wiring and outlets that Yamaha had originally installed, with proper specialist high-end audio components; ripping out the lighting dimmers (which should never be installed in a recording studio); and then replacing the walls again, to bring Defibrillator Studios up to the standard that Chris originally intended for his recording facility.

You can see more photos of the work in the 2009 Gallery.
