Chris getting certified in Pro-Tools at Hitsvillage

Posted on April 18, 2008

Starting in April, Chris began a six-month course to study the ins and outs of Pro Tools, the recording software that he uses in Defibrillator Studios.  The ninety-minute-a week six-month course takes place at Hitsvillage in Shibuya, and presents the first two units of the Pro Tools course: Pro Tools 101 and Pro Tools 110. This industry-standard recording software (and associated peripheral devices) is manufactured by Avid (formerly Digidesign), and the company also oversees a training program whose goal is to endow professional qualifications on students who successfully complete the various levels of the course.

Chris, and the five other students in his class, will take two exams in order to pass levels 101 and 110, which Chris is over the moon about, because Chris just loves exams (he loves irony even more).  The course is taught by Hideyuki Namiki.

Comments Chris: “It’s hard work; not only do I have to contend with the minutiae of audio theory, the principles of digital recording and a pretty complicated piece of software, but I also have to do all this in Japanese.  I’m glad the lessons are only ninety minutes.  Any more than this and my tiny brain would explode!”

クリスは4月より、6ヶ月間のPro Tools(クリスがディフィブリレイター・スタジオで使用する、レコーディング・ソフト) 習得コースに参加しています。
